HAPPY NATIONAL GRAMMAR DAY, MARCH 4TH!

March 4th, 2010

In celebration of National Grammar Day, March 4th, Mignon Fogarty (Grammar Girl) and Erika Paul Carlson (The Jazz Lady) wrote a song together to promote the importance of good grammar! Mignon wrote the words, Erika wrote the music and arranged it and Mike Eardley at Tanglewood Productions in Reno, Nevada produced it. It was an amazing experience that seemed to push all of us to our “limits” to get the work done “on time” for this special day. We only started a week ago! Here’s the YouTube link to the video that Mignon did an incredible job producing and the Product Store link where everything is .99 cents so you can purchase your very own copy of the March Forth song, Karaoke version and Sheet Music Lead Sheet. Happy National Grammar Day and support good music and good grammar! YouTube video link, Product Store Link, Mignon’s web links and Erika’s web link: http://www.youtube.com/watchv=_gWwah7ROsE

ERIKA PAUL CARLSON INTERVIEW ON YOUTUBE

February 14th, 2010

Jerry Larson asked me if he could interview me for a school film project. As one of my wildly talented piano and percussion students, I said, “Yes! Of Course!”. During one of the most busy Decembers I can remember, another student rescheduled their lesson due to illness just in time for us to do this interview in less that 30 minutes on a day that had basically no openings to fit anything in extra or “unexpected”. It was meant to be that we could meet, with his Dad’s help, to set up a bunch of video equipment and conduct an interview at a moment’s notice. This video is living proof that musical talent transfers to so many other creative disciplines including filmmaking and producing/directing. Thanks again, Jerry. I hope you get the five-star, A+ you deserve for this project. EVERYTHING was professional and accurate, including the photos you found of the colleges I attended. That makes you incredibly resourceful too! Now, here is the interview on YouTube to share and rate by everyone interested and supportive of live music and music education! Go Red For Women Heart Association Event

February 10th, 2010

On February 5th, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Atlantis Hotel/Casino, 600 beautiful ladies (and gentlemen!) wore red proudly at this amazing event. Wendy Damonte from Reno Channel 2 News did a great job reporting on the event and her news story also included information on how to check your current “heart health”. Here is the link to the story, and if you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll see Erika “tickling the ivories” in the background on a grand piano. What an honor to be present to make the music at this event! Click on this link and then click on the little red movie camera under “2/5- Go Red For Women” and enjoy the excitement! http://www.ktvn.com/Global/story.asp?S=11942410
